If you’re reading this from my website, you’ll notice that the place looks a little different. I’ve been meaning to update the blog for a while now, streamline it, update it, get all my information correct, and I figured that while doing that I might as well also update the look of it. The old look was feeling stale and since I feel on the cusp or in the midst of a great number of changes, why not change up the blog as well.
So, what do you think? More colorful, definitely. More in line with my mood right now, I think.
Feel free to sound off if you think something doesn’t work.
So, I’m finally settling down into more of a normal schedule, which hopefully means more time to update this blog. As usual, things have fallen by the wayside, but the ride has been thrilling, so I don’t mind too much.
Work on the apartment, meaning unpacking, is proceeding. Not at a breakneck pace, but slowly but surely. I’ve been finding time lately to write more. I have certain plans and projects in the works.
I’m also blogging again elsewhere and have a few more narrations lined up for various sites. But all about these things later. Soon.
So, the regular updating of this blog hasn’t really gone according to plan, but here are some pertinent updates:
– The apartment search is over. One has been found. A lease has been signed. Next month I will have a new abode. I’m very excited.
– Writing…is hard. I haven’t been very good at doing it regularly. The work schedule (not to mention the apartment hunting) hasn’t been working out in that regard. But I have something in the works. A way to incorporate it into my current schedule. And there are projects that I desperately want and need to be working on.
– Speaking of the writing, I don’t have many stories out right now, but I do have a few that I’ve been waiting a while on for responses. I’ve gotten used to the rejection inherent in my chosen pursuit, but the waiting, well, Tom Petty had it right. I don’t deal well with waiting. Frustration supreme.
– This week I participated in my first seder(s) in about a decade. And boy, do they take endurance. I consider myself a seasoned wine drinker, but they tested my limits. But the food, the ritual – I love it. Of course they’re a lot of work. But I love the story, the symbolism, the lessons inherent in the night’s activities. I’m not a religious person, but I do appreciate the rituals. It’s why, on Sunday, that I’ll take some comfort in the rituals of Easter.
– This week I also caught up with all the books in the Dresden Files. N introduced them to me and I started listening to the audiobooks back in December. In four months I’ve gone through 12 novels. Of course now I have to wait for the 13th book along with everyone else. But they’re fun books. Number 11, Turncoat, was my favorite.
– I think that’s enough of the updating for now. Need to save some for future posts…
